The ground trip relay is designed for use with 120 VAC undervoltage or shunt trip breakers on circuits limited to 25 amps or less ground fault current. It is factory adjusted to trip at five amps ground fault
through a current transformer. This relay features a lockout circuit and indicating light and must be manually reset after a ground trip occurs. A resistor in series with the breaker undervoltage to limit current on a ground fault is not required.

On application of control power, the trip relay will energize and transfer its contact in the trip circuit. When a ground fault current exceeds the trip setting, a solid state latch circuit is turned on which shorts the trip coil and turns on the trip indicating light. With the coil shorted, the contacts of the trip relay will transfer and
trip the breaker. With control power on, the circuit remains latched until the manual reset button is pushed.
