Long/Short Loop Rope Cappels (Wedge Type)
These cappels act as a connecting device between a winding rope and conveyance. The Short Loop Cappel is designed for capping tail ropes on friction winders. The Long Loop Cappel allows for the provision of spare length of rope where adjustment is necessary, in guide rope applications or where anchorage of aerial ropes. The wedge type cappel works on the principle of tapered wedges which produce a gripping action on the rope. This holding force is achieved via a series of bands which compress the cappel limb against the wedges to provide the grip on the rope.
