BETACONTROL

BETACONTROL is an innovative, open automation system, developed for raw ambient conditions. Its structure has been adapted to the processes in underground mines. Due to its modular structure, BETACONTROL can be adapted to any task, from individual, small controls and composite equipment for a divided process with the networking of all control units to the control level. Due to its performance, BetaControl particularly meets the requirements of complex special installations.

According to the desires of the user, the installation of the field bus level is optional. It can be created or changed using plug technology within a very short period of time - not just by electricians. The robust structure of the assembled pieces of line let you use them again immediately after disassembly, on the field bus and sensor level, if desired. In permanently installed plants, the field bus system lines and the sensor lines can be conducted into the field bus equipment via screw connections and connected to terminals.

The field bus AST (plant control system) is an integral component of the automation system and provides the infrastructure of the subsystems required for the process in just a single line: power supply of all field bus equipment, data transfer for process information, voice station for voice communication, and a safety circuit for the protection of people and devices. The four-pair system line developed especially for BETACONTROL and the selection of the data transfer method are adapted to permit a fast, safe processing of the process data in widely distributed plants. The data transfer speeds amount to 19,200 baud in case of lines up to 3 km and 38,400 baud for shorter lines.

In addition to the reliable equipment technology, a high availability of the control processes is also guaranteed through remote diagnostics programs, which create transparency, from the system control room to the individual sensor. Malfunctions in the process are thus recognized when they arise and can be localised and specifically eliminated.

The BETACONTROL is adapted to the efficient MINING MASTER and MINCOS IPC control units. Up to 8 BETACONTROL field bus lines can be realised on MINING MASTER, while up to two field bus lines with a maximum of 96 field bus participants can be realised on the MINCOS small control unit. Via the control units, modern communication paths (TCP/IP) can be used for networking with the IPC technology in the control room through the use of optical waveguides.
