ServiceWarte

The automation systems of Becker Mining Systems consist of control system computers that are connected to a number of field devices distributed over a wide area via field buses. Remote service functions are required for the commissioning and maintenance of the systems: observation of control states, setting of parameters, and localisation of malfunctions. ServiceWarte provides these remote service functions in a single tool. It is used to service the controls and field equipment of the PROMOS and BetaControl automation systems.

ServiceWarte is a Web-based software tool that is installed on a server within a network and exchanges data with the control system computers over the network. Access to ServiceWarte takes place via a browser at any computer in the network.

After the password protected login as the user and a check of the permissions, all control systems available in the network are displayed. Due to a simple interactive dialogue, a control system can be selected and various information displays can be called. All field equipment available in a field bus can be displayed, for example, and the status data or error messages can be polled. In this way, it is possible to operate the device remotely, analyse the causes of malfunctions, localise them, and eliminate them if possible.
